About Criterion Wine
Criterion Wine is the brainchild of Christos Ioannou, insurance specialist
turned wine professional. Christos caught the wine bug at university and
continued to develop his interest throughout his 20 year career in marine
insurance.
Christos holds the WSET Wine Diploma, one of the world's highest wine qualifications.
He is a member of the Association of Wine Educators and of the Circle of
Wine Writers, and an approved WSET and Bordeaux tutor.
After working for a wine importer, Christos fulfilled his ambition by launching Criterion Wine to do what he loves most – helping people to learn about and enjoy wine.
Christos has travelled all over the globe visiting many of the wine regions in the Old and New World . He has been a Judge at the International Wine & Spirits Competition since 2002 and at the International Wine Challenge

Do you enjoy good food and wine and want
to take part in sociable events with people who share your passion? Then
come and join The London Wine, Dining and Travel Meetup (click
here) which has nearly 1,000 members. We organise 4-6 events per
month for members of the group and between 20 and 40 people typically
attend each event! Recent events have included:-
- wine bar socials
- food and wine matching dinners
- meals at BYO restaurants
- tutored wine tastings
- visits to consumer wine Fairs
